Pyrmont - 25 May 2023

Another great opportunity to catch-up at what has become our regular city watering hole.

Woy Woy - 23 February 2023

After transport issues denied us the pleasure last year, it was great to continue with our traditional first-of-the-year gathering at Woy Woy. And it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone to learn that Woy Woy hasn't changed much - if at all.

Here is the usual group photo together with some videos (as requested):

Cronulla - 1 December 2022

Many thanks to Nev Bayliss for making our third visit to The Shire a memorable one - Santa hats included.

Those present unanimously agreed that we should continue with the Woy Woy tradition; so, let's look forward to seeing each other there early next year.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Pyrmont - 29 September 2022

Although the numbers were down, the spirits were high.

Sadly, some of our members are no longer able to make it to the lunches whilst, on this occasion, others were overseas or interstate.

Pyrmont - 23 June 2022

 Finally!

And the balcony beside our lunch spot provided this fantastic view of the casino.

A bit of AGC History

The recent passing of Peter French brought to mind this classic caricature of Barry Robertson that appeared in an article in the SMH under the heading: Trouble-shooter has work cut out.

The article dealt with the sacking of Peter together with Ray Morley, Graeme White and John Rumble on 16 August 1991. Although the sackings were a Board decision, it was left to Barry (as the new CEO) to do the deed. And you just have to love the way in which the artist turned the AGC tumble-blocks into a chopping block.

An earlier SMH article on the matter featured this rather typical photo of Peter:

It’s a bit scary to think that all this happened nearly 31 years ago!

Pyrmont - 25 November 2021

What a joy it was to finally get together. And as we slipped back into the comfort of each other's company, it made the time since our last gathering seemed like yesterday.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
