Christmas 2015

Another Christmas and another most enjoyable gathering of the clan - at the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel on November 26th. Thanks to Nev Hine for organising it.

The weather was hot, the friendship was warm but, luckily, the beer was cold.

Among the usual faces it was good see Ian Nay again; and also Singapore-based Graham Curd making a return visit.

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

Another great achiever

One of our members has received one of the highest international accolades awarded by the International Life Saving Federation.

Peter George AM was made a Knight in the Order of Lifesaving at the World Conference for Drowning Prevention being held in Penang. Peter, one of Surf Life Saving Australia’s longest serving members, became the third Surf Life Saving recipient of the prestigious award.

“I feel very proud to receive this honour. I do it because I love it, never for the recognition, but it is always nice to be recognised,” Peter said.“I have been a lifesaver for almost 50 years and to receive this international honour now means I have been recognised at every level, which is very humbling.”

Peter is currently the General Manager of Corporate Service for Surf Life Saving Australia. He is a former national Director of Lifesaving and, of course, AGC’s Chief Financial Officer.

Congratulations Peter!

Pyrmont - 3 September 2015

Despite the absence of a few of our regular friendly faces, another very enjoyable gathering was held at the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel.

A most welcome visitor was Graham Curd taking a break from his duties as Westpac's Head of Legal, Asia based in Singapore.

Pyrmont - 14 May 2015

Travel, illness and family emergencies reduced the numbers but not the enjoyment of this gathering at one of our favourite watering holes.

Here's to the next one!

Woy Woy - 26 February 2015

It was back to Woy Woy for our traditional first-lunch-of-the-year there.

Despite some confusion over the actual number of attendees (how did that happen Roy?), it was a most enjoyable event. Here's to the next one!
